This man, Conor Fowler of Baltimore, MD, is a rapist. He raped me and has raped other women I know. He is violent, manipulative, dangerous, and should not be trusted. He is not under any current legal investigation and is still a threat to women in the Baltimore area.
Stay away from him and advise everyone you know to do the same. I suspect he has attacked many women and will continue to do so any time he feels he can get away with it.
It has taken me nearly six years to build up the courage to share this in such a public way and I am doing so in hopes of reaching out to other women he victimized who have not yet had the support or avenues needed to come forward. I want to do everything in my power to stop him from hurting anyone else, but I can’t do this alone. Please share and feel free to add commentary.
If you know someone Conor assaulted who wants to talk me, give her my contact information or request it through my ask box if you don’t know me in person. You are not alone.
In case you missed it
I want to thank everyone again for sharing this. Everyone in my community is now aware of the threat he poses (though it seems a lot of people knew there was something scary about him in the first place without knowing all the details). I’m incredibly thankful that everyone has taken this seriously. My city and my friends are safer for it, and I feel less afraid to go out in public, which is an incredibly freeing thing.
You guys all inspire me and empower me. I don’t know how to thank you enough.
Baltimore is a city that has a small-town feel sometimes. People talk. Someone told me Conor is hiding out (literally) “until this dies down.”
The fact that he thinks this issue - the fact that he has serially assaulted women, including people who once trusted him, will just “go away” - DISGUSTS ME.
This is a PSA: DO NOT LET THIS DIE DOWN.
He cannot “wait it out” and then come trotting back into his old life as if nothing happened. That is not how taking responsibility for your actions works.
Keep sharing this, and other brave accounts of people confronting their attackers.
Keep talking about enthusiastic consent, and equal rights for all, and how we all need just a simple baseline of respecting one another.
Don’t let people like Conor Fowler “wait it out” and then return back to a society that accepts sexual assault as “something that happens sometimes” (a quote I heard once, no joke.)
This is a part of a MUCH BIGGER ISSUE THAT IS WORLDWIDE. But, if we let this account, this thing that is so close to home “just die down” then how the fuck can we expect equal rights on a grand scale to ever occur?
How, if we “let this die down” can we expect sexual assault to become something of the past — or at least something that doesn’t happen hundreds of times a day?
Don’t let them forget. Keep talking. Keep this issue alive. The fact that sexual assault is being discussed in the media, and so passionately online is a great thing. Keep it going.
Ugh I hope that’s not his mentality for skipping town but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were. And I hope he’s wrong. I hope this doesn’t blow over. I hope I never see him again. If he comes back thinking he’s given himself enough PR recovery time I’ll start printing this out and posting it around town. You don’t get to do this multiple times to multiple women and just fucking wait it out like there’s some sort of standard grace period between raping people. He doesn’t deserve to come back here, and no one here deserves to be exposed to his bullshit again.
